The Dyson DC25 is one of the new style canister vacuums. Instead of forcing all the vacuumed air and debris into a bag to filter the dirt away, the air is sent into a canister. Inside the plastic canister the debris is spun by the air and the centrifigul force causes it to fall into the collecting container while the seperated air goes through a hepa filter before exiting the machine. One advantage of a bagless vacuum is you never lose any vacuum suction because there is no bag to clog up and stop the air flow. The downside is the debris collecting cansiters are sometimes pretty small so they need to be emptied more often than a bagged version would need to. They can also be a bit messy when it comes time to empty the container as dust and dirt can be thrown up into the air and back onto your carpet while trying to remove the container.

I had no idea getting a dog would mean I also needed to get the best vacuum cleaner that I could find. I ended up buying one and that one did not cut it at all. It was actually pretty awful. So, I went online and read a ton of reviews and found one that was excellent for me. I went ahead and ordered it online because with my luck I would go to 5 different stores before I would find it. So, I just stopped all the hunting and ordered it directly.

Now I can honestly say I have the best vacuum cleaner on the market sitting in my hall closet. It sucks up everything from nuts and bolts to the finest hair on the floor. I love the fact that I can use it while the baby is napping too and it does not startle him awake! This way I can get work done while he is napping.

Recently our local riding club had a seminar about packing horses and mules for hunting or hiking. They really did a great job. They brought in a full-scale plastic horse and showed us how to properly arrange pack equipment. Then, they showed us the correct knots and ties to attach supplies to the pack saddle. After that, they went over the basics of leading a pack string and how to hitch or restrain the animals when we are in camp. They finished with a talk about camp etiquette and safety and of course, “Smokey the Bear” came in to talk to the kids about fire safety and responsibility. I think that they did a great job all around and we all ended up learning quite a bit. The club is talking about doing an overnight ride into the mountains this summer, so I’m sure the information will come in very handy. I can’t wait t start trying some of those knots!

I was in an organizing mood and when I looked around the house, I saw so many cables hanging around. I ordered cable ties that I could use. When the ties arrived, I used them to tie the different cables in each room, including the cables not in use. I wrapped the cables around my hand to make circles, and then tied them off using the cable ties. The ties hold the cables together to prevent them from coming loose and scattered all over the place. By the time I was done, I used up more than 50 cable ties. It was worth making the purchase. I intend to buy more when I fix the other rooms of the house. The ties do the job they were intended for and are great organizers. By the way, since they come in different colors, I used the same color for each room of the house. For the loose cables, I even added labels before storing them.

Kids Love My New Duplay Trampoline

I am the most popular person in the neighborhood thanks to my new duplay trampoline. I purchased this trampoline for my son thinking that he would stop using it after a few weeks, but turned out not to be true. A week after I purchased it, he started bringing over friends to jump with him. I am so thankful for the enclosure, because I remember back in my trampolining days, we didn’t have those. So with that peace of mind, I allowed my son’s other friends over to play on it. I am amazed at what these kids are able to do. They are pulling off acrobatic stunts I only thought I’d see at the circus. Back flips were just the start, then they started doing front flips. Now I see them doing multiple back flips in a row, and something they call a flare – which is a backflip, barrel row, twisty thing. It’s pretty incredible. I’ve also met some of the neighbors when the kids parents would bring them by to make sure everything was safe.
